Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Evanston, Illinois. 18F and snowing.
It strikes me that there was not a soul on this day, January 18, to be found in this giant cemetery. We were too busily interested in the immediate and material. No, there is nothing at all wrong with shopping in malls or watching sports on TV, and the weather kept many home. But why was one man completely alone in a place where there were hundreds and hundreds of grave sites, crypts and monuments to loved ones of the past? Because our focus is on our immediate satisfaction within the material world.
